Boy chokes to death on a pen cap

Treasured family snaps are a small comfort to a mum whose teenage son died after he choked on a pen top.

Loving Ben Stirland, 13, was especially close to his mum Nathalie Hodgson, who nearly lost him when he contracted meningitis as a child.

Today, in spite of her overwhelming grief, Nathalie, 38, is planning a campaign to warn other parents of the hidden danger of pen tops.

Ben was doing his homework when he slipped off his chair and swallowed the top off the ball-point pen he had been chewing.

Desperate attempts were made to revive him by emergency crews called to his home, but Ben never regained consciousness and he died in hospital two days later.

Jealous boyfriend stabs ex-girlfriend

A JEALOUS student who killed his ex-lover by stabbing her down the throat with a pen is today facing life in jail.

Frenzied Jason Webster, 21, also stamped on Rebecca Love’s chest and crushed the life out of her with the force of his 13-stone body.

Rebecca, 26 – who had a new boyfriend – was found with 93 horrific injuries. Webster, who yesterday admitted murder, left her naked apart from socks.

Bizarrely he cleaned her body with fabric conditioner before fleeing.

Webster went on a six-hour pub crawl before going to her flat at Hull University, where she studied marine biology.

7 year old dies after falling on slate pencil

This one is very sad and unfortunate, death comes in mysterious ways.

CINCINNATI, Ohio, Nov. 19. -- Sylvia Heyward, the seven-year-old daughter of Bernard Heyward, an embalmer, died this afternoon from the effects of a peculiar accident. The little girl attended St. Ludwig's Catholic School, at Eighth and Walnut Streets. Last Wednesday, when recess time was announced, the child, in her anxiety to reach the playgrounds, ran out of the room with a slate pencil in her hand.

Girl Stabs Classmate With Pencil During School Fight

Officials said two girls apparently got into an argument at Center High School, located at 8715 Holmes Road.During the fight, one of the girls took out a pencil and stabbed the other girl in the forehead, police said. The victim received stitches in her forehead. No names were released.School officials said both students will be suspended for fighting.
